Peter de Putron
Chairman
Founder of the VAM Group, Peter is the Chairman of VAM Funds which he established in 2001. He has over 30 years’ management and field experience in the financial services industry. Peter has an impressive history of developing successful financial services businesses, including management and trust companies as well as a global fund distribution company. Previously, he established a financial advisory company which grew into one of the largest independent brokerages in the industry.

Dr James Cripps
Non-Executive Director

James is an experienced director of investment companies, who retired after 35 years as a partner in Slaughter and May, which he joined from law school in 1978 and where he was a partner for the last 25 years. His legal practice concentrated on investment management including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, collective investment schemes for institutional and retail investors, and regulation in many jurisdictions. Since his retirement, James has been appointed to the boards of several investment companies, acting at the same time as a legal consultant to a number of former clients. He studied at Oxford University and was awarded a doctorate for his thesis on the impact of fiduciary law on discretionary portfolio management in 2022.

Robert H. Gordon
Non-Executive Director
Rob’s career spans over 30 years in the investment management industry as a senior leader with some of the industry’s largest firms as well as boutiques, including Bank of America, Lehman Brothers, Fidelity Investments, Driehaus Capital Management and ARIS Capital. He has broad experience across all types of investments, in both traditional and alternative formats, and currently serves as a board member and adviser in the industry. Rob holds a Bachelors Degree in International Relations and Economics from Bucknell University in Lewisburg PA, and an MBA from Suffolk University in Boston MA.

Michael Hunt
Non-Executive Director
Michael graduated from Oxford University in 1974 with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, following which he completed an MBA at the University of the Witwatersrand. Michael entered the financial services industry in 1993. He joined the VAM Group in 1996 and retired as managing director in 2016 after 10 years in that position.

Philippe Burgener
Non-Executive Independent Director

Philippe has more than 20 years of experience in legal services and the asset management industry in Switzerland and Luxembourg where he worked at leading international law firms and asset management companies. Philippe graduated from the Université de Fribourg with an MA in Law and from the University of Zürich with an LL.M in International Economic Law. He passed the Brevet d’Avocat in the Canton of Fribourg and is fluent in English, French, German and Swiss-German, and has a basic knowledge of Dutch and Luxembourgish. Philippe is also a non-practising counsel in Ogier’s Investment Funds’ team based in Luxembourg. He advises international clients on the structuring, restructuring and ongoing operation of Luxembourg-based regulated and unregulated investment funds, and the setting up and operation of alternative investment fund managers (AIFM) and UCITS management companies.
